OUR STORY

Jack and Ali Pockley have lived in the beautiful Indigo Valley in North East Victoria for almost 25 years. We own a lovely hill property of just over 60 acres near Yackandandah, and produce our own olive oil and delicious lamb. We own a glorious New Forest pony stallion, Habafield Cartier. We are breeding part bred New Forest performance ponies and also making our stallion, "Muscles", available for visiting mares.

We have a well fenced property with native pastures that suit equines well without the issues of founder associated with rye grass and clover. We are happy to take visiting mares by appointment and can cover in hand or the mare can run with the stallion if she poses no issues with her behaviour.

The New Forest Pony is one of nine native pony breeds from the UK, and one of the larger ones. The Forester is well known for its tractability, native intelligence and all round ability. It makes a great cross with Arabians and thoroughbreds for riding mounts, both for children and adults. They are well up to carrying weight and have become very popular as Australian riding and pony club mounts, as they are very hardy, great doers and terrific jumpers in the show ring and around cross country courses. Combined with their trainability, they also make great dressage mounts and all rounders.
